Greater Vancouver Food Bank
The Greater Vancouver Food Bank provides food support to approximately 80 community agencies throughout these communities, such as housing agencies, women and children’s shelters and after school programs, who in turn provide hot meals and snacks to thousands of people each week including those struggling with homelessness. The GVFB reaches and supports a broad spectrum of people in need through our agency partners.
Until recently, the GVFB has existed solely through the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations in the community. These donations continue to be the lifeblood of the organization and its primary sources of revenue. As a result of federal grants to support food security, the GVFB has received some government funding which we are using to focus on sustainable support for our neighbourhood partners, allowing the organization to get more healthy food into the communities.

Goldilocks Bakeshop

Based on the Philippine tradition of hospitality of hospitality, good food, friendliness, fast service, and pleasant surroundings, Goldilocks Bakeshop opened its first bakeshop on May 15, 1966 along the Pasong Tamo Street in Makati, Philippines. At the helm of the company were three industrious and enterprising women: Clarita Leelin Go, Milagros Leelin Yee, and their sister-in-law, Doris Wilson Leelin. Keen on what the customers wanted, the sisters strove for excellence in whatever product they sold. The name, "Goldilocks," was a suggestion from their sister, Maria Flor, who believed that the fairytale name would be memorable, while bringing luck and prosperity.

Blue Heron Cheese

Blue Heron Cheese offers plant-based alternatives to cheeses, butters and other products. Chef Karen McAthy has been experimenting with vegan cooking for over two decades and developed our method of culturing and aging non-dairy milks to create cheese. Her efforts have been focused on creating non-dairy cheese that is cheese in its own right. This lead to their writing of her 2017 book The Art of Plant-Based Cheesemaking that won its category in the International Gourmand Cookbook awards. The work aimed to continue the intellectual conversation around the differences between non-dairy cheeses that are cultured and those that are not. The Blue Heron Cheese Shop opened on Main St. in February of 2018 with line-ups down the street to try the innovative product. Since then, they continue to push the boundaries of dairy-free cheeses and products.
Innocent Ice Cream

Asacia has been sharing her love of ice cream sandwiches with her community for nearly three decades. With gluten-free diets becoming more prevalent than ever, and a few of Asacia’s Celiac friends requesting treats they could enjoy, Asacia took the plunge and began exploring gluten-free recipes and options. In 2014, Innocent Ice Cream began to offer a 100% gluten-free menu, cleverly disguised for all to indulge in. Anyone can make a good cookie, but a good gluten-free cookie is a true art, science and craft. To nail the perfect recipe, countless hours were spent and over 2,000 batches were baked and tested. The hard work paid off: Innocent Ice Cream cookies are soft, chewy, and decadent. And, like we always say, you won’t believe they’re gluten-free. Mission complete.

Fine Delectables Charcuterie proudly brings you vegan, vegetarian & gluten-free charcuteries.
Gurkamal owns a local business based in Vancouver, B.C. As a connoisseur of gourmet charcuteries, she searched for a local 100% vegan and vegetarian charcuterie business to support. When she couldn’t find one, she created it.
Gurkamal was inspired to support other local businesses as well as providing clients with gourmet charcuteries to enjoy. She enjoys experimenting with flavours and creatively bringing them together in her delicious creations. Most of all, she loves to keep things fun and fresh, and is pleased to express that through her creative outlet, which she has named, Fine Delectables. She is most passionate about presenting beautiful spreads for others to indulge in and hopes to bring her customers as much joy as it brings her to curate them.
